About the Abington Equine Hospital

Dr. Cat Radtke, Dr. Beth Ewaskiewicz, and Dr. Fran Rowe are a veterinary team specializing in horses. Abington Equine opened in 2016 with Ambulatory Services to provide services at patient farms or boarding facilities. In 2017, Abington Equine Hospital moved to the State College area to grow their business to a beautiful 24 acre farm. They now provide a ship-in clinic option for 24/7 monitored care.

Abington Equine Hospital is being developed in 4 phases and is currently assisting patients in Phase II.

Phase I

Ambulatory Services;
The call coverage area is the Central PA Region covering a 60 minute radius from our clinic for routine care, and 45 minute radius for emergency care. Drs from our practice will visit your farm or boarding facility to perform needed veterinary care.

Phase II

Ship-in Clinic;
Ship-in clinic in Port Matilda, PA, provide lameness, routine surgical, minor emergency surgical, and reproductive services. The clinic offers 5 stalls, 2 treatment areas, surgical and reproductive stocks, and fenced turnout fields with run-in sheds, all set on 24 beautiful acres. The cases in the clinic are monitored 24/7 by stall cameras, Pia V and veterinary care.

Phase III

Surgical Facility;
Coming Spring 2022! A full equine surgical hospital facility, offering colic surgery, arthroscopy, and more at Port Matilda, PA location. Once open, the hospital facility will include surgical suites, treatment rooms, an area for lameness examinations, and a reproductive management unit.

Dr. Radtke currently offers many on-farm surgical services.

Phase IV

Internal Medicine;
Addition of an internal medicine department and specialist is in the 2-year plan.
